Employability Workshops

Employability is a series of transferable skills focused workshops, aiming to raise career aspirations and awareness. Whilst valuable for all young people embarking on careers, these workshops are particularly beneficial for young people whom are currently NEET or potential NEET’s.

Themes explored throughout the Employability workshops include soft skills, aspirations, target setting, CV’s, problem solving, interviews and beyond. These are explored via a range of practical team challenges, with ample in-built opportunities for group discussion and self-reflection.

We will teach the participants how to write a CV that highlights their skills and experience. We will also cover topics such as formatting, writing a personal statement, including relevant experience, and tailoring the CV to the job they are applying for

Learning the importance of a cover letter and provide guidance on how to write an effective one. We will cover topics such as addressing the employer’s needs, highlighting relevant skills and experience, and explaining why they are interested in the job.

We will provide guidance on how to prepare for an interview and how to present themselves effectively. We will cover topics such as researching the company, practicing common interview questions, and dressing appropriately and Practicing mock interviews.

We will Discuss the importance of having a professional online presence and provide guidance on how to create a LinkedIn profile and use social media effectively.

We will teach the participants how to follow up after an interview and how to respond to feedback. We will also cover topics such as sending a thank-you email, asking for feedback, and using feedback to improve.

Will teach the key employability skills that employers look for in job candidates, such as communication skills, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and adaptability. We will also provide examples and encourage participants to reflect on their own skills.

W will teach the importance of body language and communication skills in job interviews and also provide tips on how to make a good impression, such as maintaining eye contact, using positive body language, and speaking clearly and confidently.

We will provide guidance on how to search for jobs effectively, including using online job boards, networking, and reaching out to recruiters and provide examples and encourage participants to develop their own job search strategy.
